PressBooks: How to Write Greek Text

The author writes text in the Roman alphabet, the text displays as Greek. For example:

N'umfac stefano~usan, S'wstrate, >er~wn 'ap~hljec e>uj'uc? :)

Τί φήις; Ἱδὼν ἐνθέδε παῖδ’ ἐλευθέραν τὰς πλησίον Νύμφας στεφανοῦσαν, Σώστρατε, ἐρῶν άπῆλθες εὐθύς;

This is the translation table:

For accents, use the following table. By combining these, an author can write the full polytonic Greek extended character set [1]. Note the use of two single quotes for left and right apostrophes.
