The author writes text in the Roman alphabet, the text displays as Greek. For example:

For accents, use the following table. By combining these, an author can write the full polytonic Greek [[extended character set -> http://www.utf8-chartable.de/unicode-utf8-table.pl?start=7936&unicodeinhtml=dec]]. Note the use of ''two single quotes'' for left and right apostrophes.
